Phantasy Star III Complete Script (Rhys) Addendum

At the very beginning of the game, it is possible for Rhys to sell his Boots and buy an Escapipe using the money. Once Rhys is thrown in the castle dungeon, he can then use the Escapipe to return to the castle. He can even take the treasure in the dungeon or use the dungeon to return to town. This is certainly an interesting trick, but it isn't useful in any way. The soldiers in the throne room that speak at all just mumble. Even the queen is a mute!

Also, if this trick is performed the game cannot proceed. The old man who blocks Landen's gates will still be there, so Rhys cannot leave the city. If Rhys goes back to his chambers, Maia will be there, but the wedding scene will not start again. He can't even talk to her! And lastly, Rhys can go back to his cell, retrieve the items hidden there, and cause Lena to appear. Unfortunately, Rhys cannot talk to Lena, so he will remain trapped in his cell forever. And strangely enough, once Lena appears the soldiers in the dungeon turn into copies of other characters, such as Lena herself and the little boy from Ayn's Shusoran!
